I don't know if you guys ever had the chance to check the UFPS Addon for Unity, but it has some very nice procedural animation system for weapons. The system features procedural camera and weapon movement, including sway and fire, leaving the animator with the sole responsibility of animating details: reload bullets, pulls here and there, etc. I've made some research on the topic, but i was only able to find some basic weapon sway showcased here:
Some people seem to use the Lissajous curve to create sniper-scope effects, and i've decided to use that to create sway, but the results were terrible, and predictable. What other techniques do you know that could be used for this effect? How does UFPS use a simple algorithm like simplex noise to achieve those amazing results for camera and weapon sway, as well firing and movement?
