Looks like you just started one. I'll post mine in a bit.

Check this out : studiostyl.es/
This is where I go to get my color schemes.
It has a lot of visual styles that you can download for visual studio 2008 and 2010/1012.
And the most popular ones are the ones with dark backgrounds.
Edit: This is the one I'm using for the moment : studiostyl.es/schemes/hunter-s-c-extravaganza-m
It's optimized for C#, but it works well for C++ too.The post was edited 1 time, last by Dude888 ().

I don't know specifically about screenshots, but this thread has some discussion of it. Not exactly what you're looking for.

Ohhh, thanks for the link. I'm liking this thread idea :).
I've never really bothered to change my color scheme from the VS default. Before VS, I mostly coded in Emacs, and I never bothered changing that color scheme either. I guess I never found motivation to care. Only other color scheme I'd seen someone use was green on black background which sort of nauseates me (he only chose that scheme because he went to Michigan State for undergrad...).
Looking at some of these other color schemes, I'm tempted to mess around with it now. -
Here's a screenshot of my visual studio for those who are interested.

I'm pretty sure VS 2012 has a built-in Dark preset. No idea if it's good or not. I'm a light background user

The VS2012 Dark theme is very nice, I actually replicate it to the best of my ability in 2010, however there are still one or two white backgrounded areas I can't get rid of.PC - Custom Built

If you only knew the power... haha
I see that under Environment -> Fonts and Colors you can set everything manually but I'm not sure about presets. I'll have to look it up and see.
I'll post what I end up going with but for now, my head is exploding because the house collision problem has emerged once again
Do you look like your avatar? -

Before I remembered that you were talking about your game engine, "house collision problems" sounded pretty extreme

Looks like someone posted the default VS2012 dark: studiostyl.es/schemes/visual-studio-2012-dark-style
I decided to try out the Dark Side and went with: studiostyl.es/schemes/coding-instinct-theme
Something odd about that website. It seems to not have any "optimized" color schemes for C++...?
